Alibaba’s high-tech mirrors will let you try on virtual makeup

The line at the local mall ladies’ room is about to get longer if Alibaba has its way. The Chinese ecommerce giant has unveiled a plan to integrate shopping into the most mundane of experiences by installing high-tech mirrors in the womens’ bathrooms at the mall, the Post reports. These mirrors — currently installed at the West Lake Intime Shopping Mall in Hangzhou City — will allow female shoppers to try on makeup virtually, including “lipstick, blush, eyeliners and eyeshadows,” according to a release from the company. Bathroom patrons will then be able to purchase any items they like from nearby vending machines.
